Problem:
Trying to read a Renault SID321 ECU using OBDSTAR DC706, but failed. DC706 says the ECU is not supported for the time being. But it is in the car list. Any clue?
Here is the clue.
The Renault (Continental/Vitesco) SID321 ECU has variations often referred to as “old” and “new” versions.
Older Versions: -2022. Earlier factory software. Often easier / better supported in tools. Generally easier to read/write/clone/
Tool Compatibility Broader (KESS3, AutoTuner, FC200, DC706, Flex etc.)
Newer Versions: 2022–2025+): Updated factory software (more secure, latest maps)
Frequently causes “No Virtual Read” errors in tools even with FLEX. More restrictions; may need updates or bench/boot mode.
DC706 cannot do newer SID321 versions.
Try to use Autotuner. Some users reported Autotuner does more SID321 versions.
